FinSAFE Product details
A Windows-native path from policy to execution
The technical overview describes a local management and execution service, Windows access checks, a controlled network path and encrypted records.
Components in the reference design
| Component | Responsibility |
|---|---|
| User and administrator | Set the permissions and protection policy for an agent |
| FinSAFE management and execution | Prepare the authorized environment, launch the agent and supervise its process tree |
| Windows security mechanisms | Check access to system objects, files and resources |
| Network and content inspection service | Apply destination rules and, on supported inspected requests, PII rules |
| Local data store | Keep configured requests, responses and policy outcomes for review |
| Model and business services | Receive requests that pass the configured controls |
The intended request path is: policy setup → protected agent launch → Windows access checks and network inspection → approved service request → encrypted local record.
Deployment and operating model
FinSAFE is designed to run Windows programs in their existing environment. The reference describes a local HTTP/HTTPS proxy for network policy, Windows APIs for system and file access, and local encrypted storage for records. The user interface and command line are both shown as policy entry points.
Windows implementation varies by deployment
The FinSAFE overview describes restricted-token mode as the default, with AppContainer for managed fleets. The technical reference also names Job Object, Capability SID, ACL and WFP. Treat these as mechanisms in the Windows reference design; the exact controls depend on the release and deployment.
The source architecture diagram is a design reference; it should not be read as a guarantee that every deployment enables every control.
